Cat

Cat, on the other hand, is unique because it is nearly universal.
  • Cattus - Latin, wildcat
  • Kattuz - Proto-Germanic (prior to Latin influences)
  • Kadis - Nubian
  • Qitt - Arabic
Cat, in English, is a very old word dating to 700 AD.
